A transformer is an electrical static device that transfers electrical energy by inductive coupling between its winding circuits. A varying circuit in the primary winding creates a varying magnetic flux induced in the core of the transformer and thus a varying magnetic flux through on the secondary winding. This varying magnetic flux induces a varying induced electromotive force emf’’ or voltage in the secondary winding.
